I am a Registered Nutritionist with a postgraduate diploma in dietetics.

Born and brought up in West Sussex, England, I studied at King's College, London University. I read a year of Human Environmental Studies and went on to gain a 2:1 BSc degree in nutrition.

As president of the Student Nutrition Society, on completion of my degree course, I spent a further 18 months at King's to be awarded a post-graduate diploma in Dietetics and the Associateship of King's College (AKC).

I am a member of the British Dietetic Association; The Association for Nutrition and The Guild of Food Writers and am a Visiting Fellow of The Royal Society of Medicine and Oxford Brookes University, where I lecture to both under and post graduates on corporate nutrition and nutrition in the media.

Winner of the 2019 Health and Vitality Special Achievement Honours and HFMA Health Writer of The Year award, I have twice been voted the most influential health professional in the UK. I have over 25 years of experience of working in the area of nutrition.

Great tasting food can be implicitly good for us.

Think about the beautiful, sweet, juicy blackberries that weigh heavily on bramble branches in the Autumn, or the fantastically sweet tomatoes which seem to bring your taste buds alive as you sink your teeth into them on summer holidays in say Italy, Greece or Spain.

But it's not all about fruit and vegetables, which you would expect me to sing the praises of.

How about a golden yolked egg cooked to perfection or some fresh sardines thrown on a barbecue and eaten with hot, crunchy bread?

The word 'nutrition' these days seems to have become so linked to things you can't have, that we forget it is actually about making the most of all the delicious foods and drinks, which once you have enjoyed the experience of tucking into, go on to provide you with a vast array of vitamins, minerals and super nutrients.

These amazing nutrient and plant compounds can then go on to help protect, rejuvenate, build and enhance the way our bodies work and may even affect the way we feel and look from the inside out.
